Food toothpick flags are typically composed of three primary food-safe components: the pole, the flag material, and the adhesive. The poles are almost exclusively made from natural birch wood, which is selected for its high strength and smooth, splinter-free finish. This wood is generally untreated and chemical-free, making it biodegradable and safe for direct contact with both hot and cold foods.
The flag itself is most commonly made from art paper (coated paper). Art paper is chosen for its eco-friendly properties and its ability to remain crisp and upright, as it does not absorb oils from foods like burgers or sliders. For high-end requirements, we utilize 210g art coated paper.
Finally, a food-grade adhesive is used to bond the two sides of the flag together. This non-toxic glue is specifically designed to withstand the humidity and high temperatures of a kitchen environment without losing its grip or contaminating the food. To ensure your flags fully comply with hygiene standards, we use non-toxic inks for all printing.
